Accessibility statement
Waymarker is used by public bodies who are held to the accessibility regulations, so we hold ourselves to the same standard.
Last updated 14 October 2026
What this covers
This statement covers this website, waymarker.place. Journey sites published with Waymarker are built to the same standard and will carry their own statements, naming the organisation that publishes each one.
The standard we work to
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, level AA. On this website you should be able to:
- reach everything with a keyboard, with a visible marker showing where you are
- skip straight past the navigation to the content of each page
- read all text against its background at a contrast of at least 4.5:1
- use the site on a narrow phone screen without scrolling sideways
- pause the animated map on the home page, or have it stay still if your device asks for reduced motion
- use the site with a screen reader, with the map’s content also given as text
How it has been checked
This website was designed and built against WCAG 2.2 AA, and its colours were measured for contrast. It has not yet been audited independently, so we describe it as partially compliant until it has. We are not aware of any part of it that fails the standard.
This statement was prepared on 14 October 2026.
If something doesn’t work for you
If you find a problem, or need anything on this website in a different format, email [email protected]. Tell us the page and what you were trying to do, and we will fix it or find another way to get you what you need.
If the problem is on a journey site, tell the organisation that published it — or tell us, and we will make sure it reaches them.
Twenty minutes, your route, no slides.
Tell us about a walk you already promote and we’ll show you what it looks like as a Waymarker journey. If it isn’t a fit, we’ll say so on the call.
